Sign Up and Download

Please follow the below steps to signing up, installing and getting up and running.

• Register and sign up to create a User account. We advise you to enter accurate information including your address, country and email. This information is used at checkout and other promotional correspondence, including 3Disciple Magazine.
• Check your email (and junk folder) to locate the confirmation email sent by SiNi Software. Click on the confirmation link to activate your account.
• Login to your account on www.sinisoftware.com and navigate to the Downloads page. Download the latest workstation installer. You may wish to download the Renderfarm installer and Network Manager if appropriate.
• Install SiNi Software. Please note, all versions of 3ds Max must be closed.
• Open 3ds Max and log into the Desipher license manager popup. This activates the license. Follow Network Manager instructions if installing via a network server.

How Do I Trial SiNi Software?

Trialling our software can be found on the My users page of the User dashboard. If you have not signed up you MUST do this to access downloads and the 30-day trials. If you are a studio and wish all your team to access trials, each user must sign up individually and activate the trial buttons. Studios will be able to add teams to the studio account later if you purchase licenses to apply to users.

Locating SiNi plugins in 3ds Max

SiNi Software has two types of plugins in 3ds Max. First are the utility plugins included with IgNite. The second type is the object plugins. Both are found in different UI locations in 3ds Max.

From the top menu, locate the SiNi dropdown menu and navigate to the IgNite plugins. Alternatively, select the icon on the SiNi toolbar. See Toolbar page for more info.

Have you paid and the licence is not active?

Question: "I have paid and the licence is not active, what should I do?". We occasionally get asked this. First, log in to your User Dashboard on the website and go to the My Users page. Check the licence is applied to your selected user. The website license server does this automatically. In the unlikely event, it doesn't apply the license will need to be checked manually. If you have purchased through a reseller, there may be a delay due to the setting up your account.

Yes, our “Order Page” under the “User Dashboard” will apply a discount for bulk orders.

Installing SiNi Software

Installing SiNi Software is a straight forward process and includes a silent install, for larger studio and render farm installations. please see the second sample below.

When installing SiNi Software with a silent switch, you MUST use an uppercase or capital “S”

Installing SiNi Network Proxy License Server

For network installations where company IT policy and data security is paramount restricting direct access to the internet.

Network administrators install the proxy service on the network allowing a secure encrypted tunnel connection to the online license manager. Within the DeSiper UI, select Network setting and input the required information. The user can then login to their account as usual.

• This is not a floating license server.
• MPAA and CDSA Compliant.

To uninstall navigate to your Windows Control Panel and select Programs and Features, and find SiNi Software 3ds Max Plugins from the list of installed software on your computer. Double click on the selected software to start the uninstall process.

After you open 3ds Max, you may see an empty toolbar. Please note, we cannot remove the empty toolbar when 3ds Max is closed. From the drop-down menu in 3ds Max, select Customise User Interface. Select the Toolbars tab. Select the old SiNi Software toolbar from the dropdown. Press the delete button and the empty SiNi toolbar will be removed.

DeSipher uses the same login details you created for the website.

Check the details and retry.

If you are able to login to the website, you will be able to log in to Desipher.

Please note. Do not use special characters in your password as they will not be recognised.

The reseller is processing your order. If you pay directly through the SiNi website, you order be processed immediately.

Installing Education and Site License Manager

For use by IT Departments to manage SiNi Software across a large installation network.

Network administrators install the SiNi License Manager on the network server, accessible to all workstations. The license manager is locked to the Server MAC ID by encrypted license.

Once installed, you generate a MACID file which is sent to SiNi licensing to generate a license key. Upon receipt of the license key, install in the License Manager and licenses are activated.

Install the workstation software as normal or use a silent install. See Installing, Workstation page for details.

Open 3ds Max and within the DeSiper UI, select Network setting and input the required information. The user can then login to their account as usual but the license will be issued by the Server License Manager.

• This does not require an Internet connection.
• Issue of licenses is subject to SiNi contract terms and conditions.

Using Free Plugins - Forensic and Scatter

Forensic and Scatter are free to use and installed automatically with the downloaded installer.

Forensic also comes bundled with the IgNite utility collection. Both versions have the same features. This means to use the free version you still need to signup and download the installer. In 3ds Max you will see the Desipher license manager at startup. Please log in to this using the same user and password to log into the website User Dashboard.

Procedure for getting started

Go to our Login Sceen and press the button to reset your password. The website has the same username and password as your DeSipher login.

Please check your firewall or router to make sure they are not blocking the connection.

Please login to the website and reset the MacID for your user under “My users” section of the User Dashboard.
